Celebrating native wildlife in The Hills
In recognition of the recent World Environment Day on 5 June, we’re shining a light on the wonderful native creatures that can be found in and around The Hills region.
From well-known native fauna such as koalas, wallabies and echidnas, to more elusive animals such as brushtail and ringtail possums, owls, and a wide range of other native birds, not to mention friendly blue-tongued lizards, there is plenty to see in our local bushland reserves. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled and try to be as quiet as you can whilst out on your next bushwalk, and you may be fortunate enough to spot our native animals or hear their calls.
Did you know? Blue-tongued lizards act as a valuable pest control service around your home, snacking on snails, caterpillars, insects, and other garden pests.
