Get your green thumbs ready for spring!

While gardening tends to take a back seat during winter, it never hurts to prepare for the onset of warmer weather come spring. That’s why we’ll be running a gardening workshop from 10am to 2pm on Sunday 27 August for gardeners of all skill levels. 

With live garden talks by Sydney horticulturist and presenter from Gardening Australia Tammy Huynh, as well as a seed bomb station, plants for sale, and even a plant hospital, there’s plenty to get your green thumbs twitching!

Creating and making at Blacktown Arts this winter

The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre has curated an exciting program of making workshops this winter, so you can indulge your creative side during the cooler months. 

Situated in the heart of Blacktown, a short walk from the railway station, Blacktown Arts has brought together talented local artists for a jam-packed program featuring classes in collage, drawing, zines and more. 

With workshops for artists of all ages, the program runs until 2 September.

With our very own Matildas kicking off the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Sydney on 20 July, it’s good to know our next generation of female football stars is being nurtured in The Hills. 

Based just near Bella Vista Metro station, Hills Football offers playing options to females of all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels, with Academy (ages 5-18) Little Legends (pre-school) and school holiday programs available. 

Last chance! Join our Schools Holiday 'Dance Magic' Workshop

We have a few remaining spots available with Stage Door Performing Arts for their special ‘Dance Magic' school holiday workshop on Wednesday 12 July. 

Starting at 10am, this 45-minute class is held in the lovely Bella Vista Pocket Park, adjacent to the Bella Vista Metro Station, and is open to children aged up to 8 years. 

Northwest Faces: Celia Wouters

As we prepare for some exciting new activations in the second half of 2023, this month we took the opportunity to chat with Celia Wouters, an event producer at The Launch Box. 

Celia and her experienced team are working with us to design and deliver a program of events at Bella Vista Pocket Park, starting with the gardening workshop in August, mentioned at the top of this EDM.
