Welcome!

Celebrating six years of Sydney Metro Northwest Places placemaking

On Monday 26 May, we’re celebrating six years of our Sydney Metro Northwest Places placemaking program. The past year has been full of fun, with locals and visitors taking part in our placemaking activities.

Light Up Bella Vista welcomed over 500 people to Bella Vista Pocket Park in October for a vibrant, joyous evening celebrating Diwali, and back in June, our delicious Taste of Diversity festival took us on a journey of cultural flavours.

Our September movie nights brought families and friends together across two nights, cozying up with movies under the stars and free popcorn.

Plus, each week, locals of all ages and abilities took part in free Stage Door Performing Arts dance classes, Live Life Get Active sessions, and monthly Totem Skate workshops, promoting health and wellbeing amongst the local community.

We thank you for your participation in our activities and look forward to another year of placemaking in Northwest Sydney.

Start Mother's Day early at Castle Hill Farmers Market

Treat the Mum in your life to a relaxed family outing this Mother’s Day weekend with a morning at the Castle Hill Farmers and Fine Food Markets on Saturday 10 May at Castle Hill Showground.

Soak up the crisp autumn air with a coffee in hand as you browse fresh produce, gourmet treats, and stunning flowers from the best in the region. You can pick up everything you need to cook a delicious brunch or prepare a picnic for Sunday, so Mum can put her feet up and enjoy a well-earned relaxing day.

'Bridging Now to Next' this Reconciliation Week

As we celebrate Reconciliation Week in May, the theme ‘Bridging Now to Next’ invites us to reflect on how we honour the stories of this land while shaping the future of our communities. Landcom celebrates and acknowledges the rich cultural heritage of the Dharug people, Sydney's traditional custodians.

We take this time to recognise the importance of Connection to Country as we strive to reflect this in our projects and by working alongside First Nations custodians. As we look forward, we are committed to continuing the journey of reconciliation and bridging the past and the future we are building.
