Project update
Community consultation – what we heard!
Overview
Following on from the community meetings we held in July this year, we held a pop up information session and online meeting in October to provide information about our upcoming construction works at Macarthur Gardens North. During these sessions we provided information about construction activities and milestones and how we plan to maintain pedestrian access for the majority of works.
Summary of feedback
Discussion during these sessions covered:
- pedestrian access during construction
- temporary shuttle bus service
- closure of the overflow car park on Goldsmith Avenue
- traffic and parking
- maintenance of public areas such as parks and open spaces.
A summary of feedback received during these meetings is provided on the website.
Managing pedestrian access during construction works at Macarthur Gardens North
We have started construction works at Macarthur Gardens North. Construction hours will be 7am-6pm Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm Saturdays, with no work on Sundays or public holidays.
We will be able to maintain pedestrian access through our site between Macarthur Station and Goldsmith Avenue for the majority of works.
However, for periods when it is not possible to provide safe pedestrian access, we intend to provide a shuttle bus service that connects Goldsmith Avenue and Macarthur Square/Macarthur Station.
Keeping you informed
We will provide the community with at least two weeks’ notice of any planned pedestrian access closures via channels such our website, emails, letterbox drops and SMS alerts
